My Word for 2018: BRAVE

I have been seeing more and more of My Intent bracelets on wrists lately and
have been drawn to them. For those of you who are not familiar with them, it’s a company that believes there is purpose inside each of us and they encourage people to share more truth and inspiration with each other through one meaningful word on a bracelet.
Then, I read a great post from Elise Museles (http://kaleandchocolate.com/blog/) about choosing a word for the year instead of making New Year’s resolutions and it got me thinking about what my word be. After a couple of days contemplating, I decided my word for 2018 is BRAVE.
Being Brave to me means many things and applies to all aspects of my life.
To step outside my comfort zone and to do things that make me feel uncomfortable and vulnerable - in business and in my personal relationships.
To continue learning from others which will allow me to grow my business and myself.
To be teachable and trust that my mentors know more than me and to learn from them.
To be to be the best parent I know how to be, even on the most difficult days.
To be authentic and care less about what people think of me. As Brene Brown says, “True belonging doesn’t require us to change who we are. It requires us to be who we are.” I know that we can’t please everyone, so I might as well just be myself.
On the hard days, on my tired days, on my days that I just don’t feel like it…. I will think of my word, Brave, and act on it. It will help guide me in my actions and my choices.
What’s your word?
